![]() ![]() As said above, I don't think I ever need the attack rating, so the -1 can totally go there. Seems like a better deal (you can only have one or the other anyway). "Modify Matrix Attribute"-Modification - +1 to one, -1 to another.I could be wrong, but statistically every +1 is a +0.33 more hits, so to save more than 2 HPs, it would have to come under attack 6 times. It seems very unlikely the 1 additional Firewall is gonna stop more than 2 damage before the condition monitor fills up. "Increase Matrix Attribute"-Modification - +1 to one attribute, but 2 permanent damage.Flexible and nice, and 5 karma isn't too much for it. Can be changed any time I reconfig the deck. Overclocker quality - +1 to any one attribute.I then looked at ways to increase Matrix attributes. If I happen to get into cybercombat, I need to reconfigure the deck anyway, to get attack Programs loaded etc, can switch it with Sleaze then. I feel you either have it high enough to matter, or you don't even need it at all. If I was an Attack-decker, I suppose i'd switch it with Sleaze. Attack - For me this takes last place. It's used in Matrix Initiative too, so not completely unimportant either. Not to forget the ever useful Perception. You're gonna do those too, edit files and such. Data Processing - Most legal Matrix action use this as limit. It becomes part of your Dicepool while running silent, but normally it only acts as a limit. Sleaze - I rank this one second, mostly because I'm playing a Hack on the Fly decker, more sneaky than blunt force. It's constantly rolled in defense dicepool, and a higher Firewall has a direct influence on that pool. It protects your deck, your PAN, your entire team. Firewall - I'd rank this as the most important stat.Well to answer the question (for myself), I looked at the stats and what they're needed for. Or is it? Can I get away with using a cheaper one and not be totally screwed? It is also generally the single most expensive item there is. It's the most critical part of the decker's equipment, so I want to get it right. ![]() Ok, so I'm currently building a decker, and I'm looking at the cyberdeck. Mostly the pen and paper role playing game, but also the deck building card game, video games, and literature of Shadowrun. Discussion is primarily aimed at exploring narratives found in the Sixth World. Here at /r/Shadowrun we talk shop about all things in the shadows. ![]()
